The Meadow (formerly EPIC City), a proposed 400+ acre “Muslim-centered” development near Dallas with 1,000+ homes, a mosque, K–12 school, and retail space. Critics warn it could become a Sharia-style enclave operating outside American legal norms.
Texas leaders pushed back. Governor Greg Abbott signed HB 4211 (2025) to ensure disputes are resolved only in Texas and U.S. courts, blocking parallel legal systems.
But this fight isn’t just happening in Texas. Across the country, leaders are raising concerns about parallel systems, “no-go” zones, and networks tied to Islamist movements like the Muslim Brotherhood.
