Terror Attack at Port Authority Subway Station

HERE IS WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR:

Terrorist Akayed Ullah attempted to attack one of the busiest transit hubs in NYC. Ullah carried out the failed attack in the name of ISIS injuring three more people. 

  1. An explosive went off in an underground passageway at 42nd street between 7th and 8th avenue. 

  2. The explosion happened during rush hour around 7:30 AM (EST) on Monday, December 11, 2017, near Port Authority bus terminal.

  3. Three people suffered minor injuries. 

  4. The suspect was seriously injured and taken to Bellevue Hospital and is in police custody. 

  5. The 27-year-old Bangladeshi immigrant had been living in Brooklyn for about seven years and made the explosive device at the electrical company where he works.

  6. He entered the U.S. through a family-based visa.

  7. The explosive device malfunctioned and did not fully detonate. The suspect had another device with him.

  8. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the suspect learned how to make a homemade bomb on the internet.
